Help/advice needed with mortgage and relationship split...

Me and my partner have split, we are still living under the same roof and it is amicable, The situation is, due to him being paid monthly and me 2 weekly, he paid the mortage once a month and i paid all other bills. This worked out equal at the end of the month.
Last month I found out he had not paid any payments and we owed 5k in arrears and were ging to be repossesed, mortgage company agreed to take a 3k lumo sum and spread cost of rest of arrears.
So, a month ago, he lost his job. We also have a secured loan, I am working, Because he lost his job through mis conduct, he is not entitled to any benefit for 24 weeks, Am I liable to 'keep' him?
When we split I was told by a solicitor that I have no right to change locks and kick him out and vice versa, So he does not have to leave the property. BUT, I am going to really struggle to pay EVERYTHING, I need to know If i just pay my half of the mortgage and secured loan, can they repossess the house? Under the circumstances, he will not be paying his half because he can't, he literally has £0 coming in.
I'm feeding him and stuff and everything. For all its amicable, it doesn;t seem fair?? I only want to pay my half of mortgage and secured loan.

Yes they can. You are each responsible for paying all of the mortgage - the lender doesn't care who pays what, but the whole lot has to be paid.
Is the mortgage now on interest only? If not, that might be worth considering, but you'll need to call the lender. Having said that, it might not be an option if you have arrears.
You are going to have to sort this out with him, in some way i.e. so he pays you back when he can. If you can pay all the bills then, unfair as it seems, it's the only way to keep the roof over your head. He should try and get a job of any description, but you need to talk to him about all of this. He needs to understand that you will be subbing him until he can afford to pay you back.
Bear in mind that if he left, you would have all the bills to pay anyway, so your current situation is no different to that, had he left.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
He last made a payment before we split.
I paid last months and the lump sum was borrowed from relative.
So I need to know if he is still living in the house and jobless can i just pay my half of the mortgage and secured loan? surely he is entitled to some help, Im not on a great wage. £1300 a month.0 -
I can only afford to pay the mortgage secured loan and petrol in my car for work. Nothing else will get paid. my money will not stretch any further.
We are on interest only but it only took £34.71 of the payments per month, was hardly worth it.
Its not so much him paying me back, he has fallen on hard times and i understand that, its the here and now, when my money will just not stretch to pay everything.
so stressed, house is up for sale like alot of peoples but no interest.0 -
Unfortunately, as has already been said, you a both equally liable for the debt. The bank doesn't care who pays, but one of you has to, thats why it was a joint application.0

It's difficult to know what to suggest. Has your ex applied for benefits? Have you really scrutinised your budget? What kind of mortgage do you have? (I pay less than £700 per month on Interest Only for a £300k mortgage, on SVR). Can your ex do any work at all - work in a bar, for example?
Unfortunately, it's largely down to the two of you to sort this out, unless he qualifies for any benefits - and he should check this out.so stressed, house is up for sale like alot of peoples but no interest.
Are you sure it's priced to sell? The asking price isn't too high for similar properties in your area, is it?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
