Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x

Good luck everyone.:T

  • Evening budgeteers,

I am rather late starting the thread as I have had a rather busy day doing not a lot. I had a friend around for sunday lunch which was yum and I made mulled wine which is so tasty but seems to make you more drunk than normal wine :D

Anyway last week I was green :j:j:j
This week we are in dire straits as it still seems an eternity to payday and I have spend too much money on various things (Xmas, boozing etc.) so it is going to be a lean week and a half. I am going out for dinner on Tuesday which I am not counting out of this budget. So budget for the week is £15 and I hope to have a fair chunk left on Friday but we will see:o.

A bright shiny NSD for me today, got tomorrow off work, and finishing the Xmas shopping for hubby (out of a different budget) need to get a few bits in poundland, but not a lot, so should be a low spend day, and my £7 theatre ticket is being paid tomorrow, so £8 to play with, should be doable.
    Good luck all

Was going to set my budget by another £30 but remember my pledge and I seriously do not need another shirt so £40 it is.
I won't be able to update next week end but will you know when I return.
Found nice little present for OH for Christmas but prior committing I remembered my MSE approach and going to get it tomorrow with the 25% off voucher from the Red magazine I found in the train! Have all a great week

  • Hi everyone

I would like to set my budget for the week at £10.00 and a couple of NSDs will be perfect.

    Hi fellow budgeteers :hello:

I too failed miserably last week :(- I spent a lot of money buying food and bits for a friend who is in real dire straits and has finally told me that she has lost her job and been unable to afford to buy food or pay gas & elec etc:(. So whilst it was a fail and I spent money I hadn't planned on I would do it again in a shot. On myself I spent very little unplanned and would have been an easy green.

This week I'll budget for £20.20 please.

    Good luck all
