How long?

I'm really sorry I know this is probably the wrong place to post this! But I don't know where else to put it

I just wanted to ask how long on average it takes to get prizes? I have read the FAQ but still a little confused and I saw a girl saying she had been waiting two months is this normal?

I e-mailed the comp person to ask if I had confirmed my address ok because I wasn't sure and I got sent this

Hi Bremerton,

Thank you for replying to my email. Your postal details have been forwarded to the PR company concerned and you should be hearing from them very soon.

So not sure what to think? Sorry this thread turned out to be way longer than I expected it to be lol!

  • From my own personal experience I would say that around 1 month is the average waiting time. I have had some prizes that have taken several months to arrive and some that have come within a matter of days.

Looking at the response to your email then it seems the organisers are not to worried at the moment so I would imagine all the winners are still waiting.

How long have you been waiting?

  • Thankyou

Not long about 3 weeks I only e-mailed her to check if I'd confirmed my address in the right way as the e-mail wasn't very specific and didn't say "please reply to this e-mail" etc. Is there any reason as to why some take longer than others etc?

  • I don't think there is a specific reason why some take longer than others. I guess it all depends on the promo company and their work load.

I'd say as a rule leave it 28 days before sending a polite query/reminder.

I had a letter from Real People Magazine on the 18th September to say I had won £100. The cheque arrived yesterday 14th November.

On the other hand I have had a wem to say I had won something and the prize arrived the next day.

Often get things that I don't even know I have won until they arrive and sometimes the competition ended months ago. Surprises are lovely.

I've had prizes turn up within days and some take 4 months (even when they say they will be supplied within 1 month).

As long as you've made contact, i'd sit back and wait for a bit longer.

  • cheques tend to take longer...a month on average (i'd ring up if they take longer). Otherwise all my prizes have arrived within days
