Hi
I am in desperate need of redecorating my bedroom and would like to find the cheapest possible way of doing it (and easy too if poss - helpless single mother! ::) )
Where would I find cheap, but decent quality paint and flooring? Anyone know?
Cheers in advance ;D

You can paint over wallpaper and a roller is the quickest way to cover large areas quickly.
Is there a local free paper that you could check for any deals?
Cheapest for paint could be white paint on most or all walls then adding colour from a few tester pots as a stripe or alcove etc."This site is addictive!"

Getting a few tester pots and slapping on big squares to see what you like the look of is a good idea. Anything is likely to be darker on your wall than on a lighter one.
But getting a base coat of white on first would help stop the dark showing through if you want to go really light.
Have you got a LETS (Local Exchange Trading Scheme I think is the full name) near you to 'trade' something you can do for help with decorating? It's much easier with more than one of you.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I never buy coloured paint, only huge tubs of white, and mix in a tester pot- you'd be surprised how much colour a little tester pot adds to white, so only put in a bit at a time until you get the colour you want.
just in case you need more than you thought- make sure you measure the amount of white and colour you mix together, to get the next lot the same shade.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

What a fantastic idea *insert clapping here* ;D
I'll buy loads of white paint, paint plain white as an undercoat (do you need special 'undercoat' or will plain emulsion do?) and plain white & tester to mix

You will probably need loads of coats to cover the dark blue, unless you can get a cheap one coat cover all paint in the sales."This site is addictive!"
