ESA myself and JSA my husband

Myself and husband were claiming for JSA jointly. But I got a sick note from the doctor as I can not work at the moment due to health reasons. Husband had to reclaim and fill in another form at jobcentre. I then rang up on the phone and put in a claim for ESA. Which I am awaiting for the letter etc. I have been reading on here that some have been told to fill in a JSA6 or JSA3 form to be exempt from signing. I was not told about this or even given one to complete at the job centre. Even though I have now applied for ESA, do I still need to complete one of these forms on top? Or will they just send this to me for me to complete and enclose my sicknote to send to them. All they said on the phone was, they will send me the documents and address to send my sick notes to.
