another good book - ripleys believe it or not, full of weird and interesting facts.

Also my son is 7 and loves ricky gervais' flanimals - there a new pop up one out. And it is brilliant. its half price (was £14.99 now £7.49) in whsmith at the minute and well worth every penny.

I was always told growing up that you cant ever go wrong with a book.

If you join the WH smith priviledge club you get £20 worth of money off vouchers for joinint and new vouchers every month.

I just signed up and got:

£5 OFF when you spend £25* in store

  • It's for my cousin's son, he spends quite a bit of time playing on wrestling video games!
£20 is my absolute limit for how much I'm willing to spend. I'd love to spend more but I'm in a lot of student debt and only recently started my first full time job.

Think I would go with the poster above who suggested the guiness book of records. My son had it last year for Christmas and dips into it regularly. It may be difficult to buy him a wrestling game that he doesn't already have and anyway the games are usually a lot of money. If not the book of records, can you find any wrestling books he may be interested in (as it would appear that this may be his thing).

I know that there are some books that support the games - can you find out from your cousin which games the son has and maybe look to find the book to go with it?

Sorry if my message has been waffley

My 8 year old loves the guiness world record books, I have bought him bop it for Christmas, he also loves all the chemistry sets that you can get these days. My kids also love wrestling so one of them has the 2010 annual.

  • OP i can sympathise with you totally. I had to buy or an awkward (and rather spoilt) 8 y/o boy on a limited budget.

I got him a 'gogo crazy bones' tin (a silver tin with lots of gogo figurines inside it) for £9.99 from tescos (can also be brought from argos) and they're basically collectible little cartoon-style figurines. Apparantely it's a big craze in for school kids (i'm told all his classmates collect them) and you can buy additional packets for about £1 a pack so it's something that's easy for kids to collect.
