I think I will need a restraining order against Tesco!

As a few of you know I have finally managed to clear my Tesco loan (3 years early thanks to inheritence). Just got a phone call from them asking if I wanted a loan! I said,

"you mean I can get another loan from you guys so soon? That is great!!!".

"Oh yes Mr CCK, you can have £15,000 in your account tomorrow if you wish!"

"Why would I take out another loan after clearing mine perchance?"

"Erm... new car perhaps?"

"No thanks, not interested. Thanks and goodbye!"

Unbelievable. Ive had a few of these recently:

I couldnt believe that LX direct offered me a grand for buying the dreaded garden furniture.

Paid off my LLoyds tsb CC - to be offered wait for it, a SECURED loan

Phoned Egg to take a payment from my switch card. they said do you have any other cards, I was like , yeah Ive about 200 on my Bcard, but that will be gone next month hopefully, the guy was like " oh why are you stretching yourself, We can give you a loan over 3 years to take this balance ( at o%) and the b/card, I was like er, no, Ill leave it

Wouldnt have been that long ago I would have taken it and ran with it so chuffed with myself there :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I had one of these too. When trying to make an additional payment to my Egg Loan the operator asked if I had any other loans and did I want to combine them into one manageable monthly payment. He was quite surprised when I said no! If I hadn't have discovered this site though and got my head around how the whole front loaded interest thing worked I'd probably have said yes so thanks guys!

  • No wonder people get into debt so easily!!!!

You certainly need will power to deal with some of these companies.

I paid off my halifax c/card only to have the credit limit put up by £1000 the next month and then I spent on it again and again and again and now I am back where I started. This time I have cut up the card and will close it as I should have done before.

Well done to you guys for sticking to your guns!

I had the Mint thing too - called up to find out if they would give me a good deal on balance transfers (as it was empty) and they said the best they could do was offer me 8.9% for 6 months. I said no thanks, and while I was there could I cancel the card completely.

Next thing I go through to someone offering to raise my limit to £10k, give my 7.9% for a year, and send me a shiny new platinum card instead of the gold one.

Not only did I refuse, I demanded they send me a cheque for the £1.05 I had earned in cashback, and close the account.

I got the cheque and closure letter on the same day they sent me a letter offering a £10k loan. Morons.
