Hi guys
Does anyone know if you can freeze cous cous?? Had a BBQ at the weekend and now have far too much food left over, but don't want to throw it away.
Thanks

Depending on the ingredients you have made up the couscous with, you should be ok freezing it.
Hope this means the BBQ and the goodies bags were a rip-roaring success?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yes thank you, the weather was wonderfu, food was good, and too much alcohol drunk which I paid for yesterday - but today I am back to my normal self and promising myself to not drink again!! The ingredients for the cous cous were all veggie thinks, so should be fine!!
Thanks

Hello, can I butt in to ask a question, what about the mix which you buy in packets from the shops.
We use this but these always too much for just the two of us. Can some of this be frozen and if so, what do you do when you come to cook it again.
Sorry for the question and I expect its obvious0 -
If you mean packet sauces (casseroles etc), once made up then yes. Aslong as any meat used is uncooked initially. Just defrost and reheat thoroughly remembering not to reheat meat more than once.
If you don't mean the packet sauces then I'm really sorry!!1 John 4: 7 & 80 -
Got a recipe for cous-cous that I would like to try today. I have all the ingredients (aubergine, peppers ets) but the recipe is for 4 people. As OH doesn't eat anything like that, I wondered if I could make it and freeze the other three portions.
If I reduce the quantities/weights to make just one portion, then I might struggle with using the rest of the veggies (trying our Rosemary Conley's diet).
But I don't know if cous-cous freezes and if it's ok to defrost and have it tasting as good as fresh (almost!).

Hi rkh001,
We have an earlier thread on freezing cous cous, so I have merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together. As always posts are listed in date order, so you'll need to read from the beginning to see all the replies.
