Chocolate Log Recipe/Ideas please

I want to make 4 Christmas Logs this year, but don't want to use the swiss roll type recipe but a normal chocolate sponge baked in a loaf tin.
I will then slice longwise and fill with buttercream icing and cover in more buttercream icing and melted chocolate dirizzled over the top.
The problem is that I need to make them about 2 weeks before Christmas, and not certain how long they will store ok.
Can I freeze them, if so do I freeze them with or without the butter icing filling.

I would wrap the sponge in greaseproof and then foil and freeze then make fresh buttercream when you need it - buttercream can go grainy in the freezerBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
