argos x box deals look good - but beware

argos are advertising some deals that look pretty good but be careful and read them very well !

i reserved a deal and went to collect it to be told i got it wrong and the deal was not what i though! basically made to look pretty stupid in the shop

when i got home i checked my printed copy to find that the deals changed last night as they were a mistake

pretty annoyed about that especially as the staff in argos horsham did not have the common decency to tell the truth about what they have done.

one complaint to head office about the deal changes and the poor staff attitude later i'm waiting for a recall - what the betting they dont bother to phone me back?

If you reserved it yesterday and the offer was still valid at time of reservation then it is vailis, go back with your print out and get them to honour it.

I had same thing with the Dsi deal, this changed on weds so i reserved the night before incase new deal was no good, it turned out new deal was same as old but they had put the price up by £20 so i got it at the reserved price. HTH.

  • at the moment they are saying that as no money changed hands they do not legally have to honour it!
legal or not it a really good way of telling me to buy elsewhere next time

    the arguement will continue:mad:

Argos make a point of saying "The price you pay will be the price in store on the day of collection" when you reserve items.

Think it all really depend on which store you visit, some will point blank refuse and other will honour it, I recently got a netbook for £99, was supposed to be £199 but my email when I reserved it stated £99, so they did honour it, although it did actually say on the email 'the price you pay is the price instore when you pay for your item'.
  • Interesting warning - but this is not a Grabit :o)
