just thought i would say hi. I'm a mum to 3 work part-time and am married.
I have struggled with debt on and off ever since uni days am nearly 40. I have made a vow to sort myself out and stay debt free now for the sake of my kids. Just wish my hubby would face up to his .
Anyway I've set up a DMP with CCCS and just had my first month payment and have 20 days left on my first budget month, so far it's not too bad, it feels comfortable but i am having to think about how i spend etc. Have to say how liberating it feels to get to this, my debt is about £35K with the CCCS the intial aim is to be debt free in 8 years but when i pay less childcare then i can tackle more of the debt.
Loan ads make me very angry now and despite having told my debtors my plans they are still piling on the charges.
My lightbulb moment was May and it was hard going through it all but am so pleased I did it. I had been struggling too long trying to rob peter to pay paul etc.
I'm also trying to sell old baby clothes etc via ebay and am meal planning each week, shop with a list and other simple things like that.
We are planning a lean xmas and are holidaying at home.

Hello! Welcome aboard!
I know what you mean about adverts etc. I had a letter from Capital One on Friday saying I could borrow up to £75K
This immediately brought forth from me a verbal explosion of "You have no idea if I can pay that sort of money back you @!*!@*?
Glad to have you on board. Posting an SOA will help us give you tips on further cutting back - don't forget to check out the OS board as well. I have managed to cut our grocery bill down by about £40 a month so far (2 of us) and I am looking to reduce that further.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Welcome to the forum
Nothing to say advice wise as CCCs should have maximised your budget, but well done on starting the path to being debt free!0
