First time I concluded a venture capital fund raising deal. My CEO lent me his 3.3 rsr turbo for the weekend. Great for open roads. As for country lanes in Devon. Clutch was to heavy, felt as if you were depressing a brick through the floor. Worst of all the wheel arches protruded too far.

But you get a good MPG and wont be on the side of a motorway waiting to be picked up while other unsavory motorists call you a name often saved for refs.:)
They may not be practical (what sport car is) but if you used one every day I think it is still the only choice (would include R8 but you just can't:) )
But servicing is still ridicules and tyres also so deep pockets are required what ever super car you have.0 -

I had TVR 400SE for 7 seven years. Only 39 of the model were ever built. Had the Land Rover 3944cc engine, that TVR rebuilt to half racing spec. So turned out just under 300bhp with a bodyweight less than that of a Ford Fiesta (at the time). The power to weight ratio meant you could pull away in 3rd gear and accelerate to 115mph before changing up.
My favourite stat was that it could 0 -100 and back to a standstill in 14 seconds. Faster O-60 than a Ferrai Testarossa.
Bug bear was the tyres. Tried various compounds for handling. As 18" rims with no power steering was hard work. In the end used a Bridgestone with a softer compound, but only 6,000 miles on a set. :eek:
At £220 per tyre back then. An expensive hobby.0
