Recommendation for electric blanket please

Options
I have a Dreamland Imetec dual control electric underblanket which was on the spare bed. Now I've put it on my bed I realise there is a fault with one of the controllers - the light on the dial to set the number (1-9) keeps flickering and doesn't heat that side up.

A call to Dreamland resulted in being told that this flickering wont stop the blanket working properly (not exactly true) and is not dangerous.

Unfortunately this is one rare receipt that I can't find, I am very fussy about keeping receipts but this one has eluded me so can't do anything about taking it back, and I'm sure it's out of it's two year guarantee now anyway.

Googling has shown that this is a common problem with this make of blanket and nobody seems to get very far with trying to resolve it.

I could buy a controller on ebay but the only one for sale says it is used and as it's £16.49 plus postage I'm thinking that amount of money might be better spent towards a new one.

So I'm throwing in the towel and want to buy a new one. Any recommendations?

Requirements:

Double size
Dual controls
Able to be left on all night on lower setting
Not skimpy size, want it to heat as much of the mattress as possible. I would be happy to have a fitted one if the skirt is deep enough to stay put on my mattress which is 9.5" deep. I have a mattress cover with 10" skirt but only the ends/corners are elasticated not the sides and this does ride up and move.
Not particularly looking for cheap, looking for one that works well.
Due to reading about Dreamland's unhelpfulness, I'm not particularly keen on that brand again.

Hope someone can help.

OK Godiva, no probs. Thanks for replying, I was beginning to feel a bit of a Billy-no-mates :rotfl: .
  • The wife was after one of these I thought they were unsafe but last time I heard about them was in the 70's

    Where's a good stockist?

I don't know a good stockist as I'm not keen on buying another one of this brand.

Take a look at this, (keep scrolling down, lots of comments) and this seems like the problem with the controller is very common.

If you're still keen on buying one use google or one of the price comparison sites for stockists/prices.
