This website will tell you the nearest place to a given postcode that you can recycle various materials from glass to chemicals to tyres:-

However some may be an awful long way away - I'm in Essex and one of the searches I typed in came back with two alternatives of London or Falkirk neither of which would be an environmentally sound journey to recycle something.
