Mortgage company agreed mortgage provided I reduce credit cards - which I thought was ok because friend gave me a gift of a considerable amount of money (6) to clear. Now they are querying that its not a family member - you would have to know my family to know why I am laughing right now.
Has anyone else had similar with A.N. and what was the outcome.
Should I just pretend she bought a Van Gough from me

The lender wants to know why someone who is not a family member has decided to gift you a considerable sum, rather than lend it to you expecting repayment. The mortgage lender does not employ mind-readers, so has no idea why you would find this a laughing matter."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
