Wow. I don't know whether to  or
Your username is truly appropriate
The payment was relatively recent , only 29/12/2008, so fairly fresh in my mind.
Username - I'd tried a few and they were already taken. Aiming for a state of financial freedom / bliss, so tried this name and it was free... and here I am.

I did 39p the other day as i got 10% off an ebay purchase, and my favourite method of overpaying is to transfer money saved. It's the easiest way to make a big difference, and ingrained in me from when i used to do the pin money savings challenge on the OS board.
Compare that to my biggest overpayment of £10,000 and the bank must have a chuckle.
I'm another one who does online. We went into the bank just before i left work as we wanted to reduce our official mortgage payment to give us a bit more leeway with our budget, and the guy pulled up our account onto the screen and asked me to explain all the little payments as there were so many he couldn't actually see what the real payment was. I felt a bit embarassed about it although i donb't really understand why.
I think perhaps because we don't really broadcast us overpaying as my parents think i am absolutely daft as if anything happened to one of us it would be paid off anyhow. Also, in-laws said, well it is nice to do it but not something we should be thinking about at the moment.Best to keep it to ourselves i think.

Hi Cake21
Yes, I do put tiny amounts into a savings account on pretty much a daily basis. Like others I tend to round up and/or add amounts I have saved elsewhere. So the lowest amount I have added to my savings account to then use as an OP would be .06p

Thanks for replying everyone
Half the people who responded had a lowest ever OP of less than £10; I know it shouldn't matter but I love it that I'm not the only one making lots of little OPs
Huge respect to the one person who has made a branch/phone OP of less than a £1 :A
I love the idea of putting half of any savings on bargains etc into the OP pot, will do that from now on :T0 -
Our smallest amount overpayment was £15.07 this was when the interest rates first started dropping, we are now overpaying by £273.08 each month as we have kept to our original "minimum" payment from when the mortgage started, which was at about 6% then.
When the rates do start to increase, the over payments will shrink until we are back even again or possibly even higher. who knows.. ?ORIGINAL MORTGAGE AMOUNT £106,454.00 (Started Sept 2007)
NOV 2021 O/S AMOUNT £1,694.41 OUR DEBT REDUCED BY £104,759.59 by std regular, over-payments & off-setting.
BofE +0.19% Tracker Repayment Offset Mortgage Discounted Sept 07-10 then increased to BofE +0.62% until 20270
