  • hi helly, cant offer advice on a loan and if people advise payday loans, they are ok in the short term only if you can pay them back on your next pay day but they are extortionate, if you need to take another loan out due to paying back the 1st you can get caught in a nasty trap. been there done that its a horrible situation

maybe pop over to the debt free board and the reclaim bank charges board to help you manage your money more effectively and reclaim the charges you have incurred

sorry cant be more help than that, good luck!

  • Hi, you can use payday uk as last reort not bad company dont get hassled. also if you go through quidco you can get cash back.
  • thanks for you replys,

have you had experience in using payday companies?
  • i think i have used them all, paydayuk, quickquid, payday express, pounds till pay day, uncle buck, wage day advance, wonga. if this is a last resort my preferred is payday express HOWEVER do not extend any of these loans, pay it back the next payday then budget like hell the month after so you dont have to get another one.

also, if this is the 1st time you are using them think you can only get up to £200 the 1st time.

as moneyspender said use paydayuk and go through quidco so at least you get something out of it!

How about the bank of mum and dad?

Based on your income, whatever you do, don't get a payday loan as you will be paying masses of interest on the £450 and then it will really eat in to your student loan when that comes in.

Can you ask your bank to extend your overdraft or as iolan has said, bank of mum and dad.

Also you need to think about how you'll avoid this happening again, rent and food are top priorities :)
  • yeah looks like i will be trying bank of mum and dad although id rather i didnt have to there is other little choice,

    lesson learned!
  • Wonga?? Those b*****' cr**ks who charge 2,689% APR and claim to be responsible lenders?? I wouldnae trust them further than I could throw them, & I have a bad back...

Keep away from money-sucking b*****ds like these if you have any any alternative!"

    Hope it works out...

    Cheers!
