Ideas for adult Xmas Stockings please?

Tradition in this house has always included a stocking from Santa. Even although the eldest 'kids' are 26 and 20. (Both male.)

I'm struggling this year for new ideas as to what to put in them. The main criteria is that the gifts must be half decent (no plastic junky things that will be binned the next day) and reasonably priced.

I'm also intending to make up a stocking for my son's girlfriend and I don't really know her well so need ideas for general 'everyone would like that' type of gifts would be really welcome.

I usually put in things like cd's, dvd's, keyring maglite torch, car gadgets (credit card stainless steel ice scraper to keep in your wallet - that was handy and well used, lol), personalised glass etc etc. I tend to pick things up whenever I see a glitch or offer on so dont usually spend all that much even although the stocking gifts are not too shabby. I'm stumped this year though and need to make a start.

Help?

mobile phone top-up if they have pay as you go phones? Check out the Jemma Kid lip glosses that come free with packs of Bodyform. Soap and Glory minatures are on 3 for 2 in Boots at the mo and come with a free gift bag. I've put tea and hot chocolate sachets in my stockings this year as something a little bit different and also some Yankee candle Christmas samplers. I believe the free mini bottle of Baileys with coffee is still going on their website. Santa hats maybe? hth!

  • My partner and I always do a stocking for each other with a budget of £10 for the whole stocking- its always a challenge!

I often put in a cheap DVD (from the £3 shelf in supermarket) Chocolate Coins or a HM choc slab, sometimes a scarf, some De Icer, deodorant, socks and one of those magic expanding flannels then I usually buy him silly toys from places like Hawkins Bazaar. Last year I put in a slinky and we had hours of fun with it on Christmas Day! We are big kids! lol

He normally puts similar things in mine, sometimes he puts in lipgloss or slipper socks in mine too or a soft toy.

We are 23 and 24. xxx

Just thought I'd add an idea - this is what we do each Christmas!

Myself, hubby, my brother (the youngest at 23!), and my parents all do 'stockings' from Father Christmas on Christmas Morning. We do it kinda 'Secret Santa' style. We buy OURSELVES 2 chocolate things (selection box, choc orange, tubes of sweets, whatever we fancy.), wrap em, and put them in our own 'stocking'. Then each person buys everyone else 2 items (around the £5 mark ish each - but you could do any price limit, or just do one pressie each), wrapped, unlabelled, in the right 'stocking'. So we all get 10 pressies each from Father Christmas!!

We've done it for a few years now, and it's great fun!!
