since i replied to a post earlier about me being charged 10p every time i received a text i have been inundated with many people asking how to stop this.
well, im with o2 and the texts were coming from the number 802023. the texts i were getting were from my online o2 email account. o2 do text to mobile if you want it, and charge 10p, but i didn't want it as i never use the o2 email and the preference boxes they said i had ticked were not ticked!
i have been phoning & emailing for a month with no member of o2 knowing what it was or how it was happening, so i had to figure it out for myself.
i emailed o2 (yet again) and asked them to delete my number from my online details. This was done 2 days ago and so far i have not got anymore texts.
therefore, if you are getting texts from 802023 ask o2 to do the same.
i have suggested to o2 that they train their staff more appropriatly - needless to say i have not had a reply.
they are still refusing to refund my money of at least £10 and still insist it was my fault!

I had that problem! I couldn't get any help either. I changed it so that they only text me when i receive a message with a certain subject that is never going to happen, and that's stopped it.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
