  • Many here have had previous debts with barclays and opened a basic account with them AFTER going bankrupt without any problems

I got a Coop account for my bankruptcy. Six months into my BR, Abbey upgraded my then unfrozen Abbey account from a pure cashpoint card to an Electron card. I was discharged in May.

One of my biggest debts was to Barclays, but last week I applied for an account there, and was approved without a quibble. :j I will have online banking but not an overdraft or cheque book but at least I will have a proper Connect Visa debit card as opposed to two Electron cards. YAY!!!:T

  • I'm new on here - can anyone tell me the pros and cons of a connect debit card? Is it affiliated to Visa?

It is a VISA debit card. You can use it as a normal VISA debit card, so that means whn they don't accept Electron (for example), you could use the VISA Connect debit card.

I think Connect is just the brand name of their the bank's debit cards.
