DFW Bank charges: Getting list of charges from Head office or local branch?

I am going through the process of claiming back bank charges and 3 weeks ago wrote to Halifax Head Office for statements/list of charges for the last 6 years. I know that they have 40 days to respond and it has only been about 20 so far but I have not heard anything yet even though I sent the letter by recorded delivery. I wondered if it would have been easier and quicker if I had sent the letter to my local Halifax branch .

WHat is everyone else's experience, how long have people had to wait for their statements and did you contact your banks head office or your local branch. I'd love to know if you don't mind.

as far as im aware you need to write to the head office. im sure the local branch would only refer your letter there.

im a terrible hoarder and keep all my statements, so haven't had to request any yet.

i got my statements from halifax after about two weeks and i wrote to their head office. As more and more people start to request them though they will take longer. A lot of banks are sending statements out so they get to you on about the 39th day. Stalling as much as they can
