Remortgage Problem

We are doing a remortgage on a property and have had all the paperwork come through to us from Abbey as well as the appointed solictiros.
However, there are some complications.
The property is actually in my mums name at the Land Registry. However, the new mortgage is in joint name of my parents and abbey would like the property deeds registered under both my mum and dads name upon completion of the remortgage. I didn't actually know this all these years, i assumed it was under both my parents name. However the problem is the solictiors have also done a bankruptcy search and there are two search results for my dad. When questioning my dad why the property is only registered in mums name, he mentioned to me that about 12 years ago he did go bankrupt and it was the only way to keep the property by transffering the deeds under my mums name otherwise he would have also lost the house. However he is not aware of the Pending actions on the property under his name. The bankruptcy search itself doesn't actually give any company names just the ref number and the county court details. He is not aware what these are and what they have been registered for. Can someone please tell me how i can find out what these are and where to find out this information. Also although he is well and truly out of the financial mess he was in and won't be getting into the same mess again as before he is a but reluctant to put himself again on the property deed as its the one thing he has worked his life for and he can't risk losing. Is there a way around this.
Thanks in Advance.
