Thanks all

Just to update, spoken to Egg to take off my card repayment protection insurance, and they offered me a flexible loan at 7.9% to transfer my credit card balance on, rather than the 15.9% I am paying on the card. To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement!
To top it, they granted me up to £7k borrowing over 7 years at 7.9%, but a flexible loan so I can pay more quicker if I wish, so I intend to transfer all of my Egg C/C to this, £4k of my Virgin C/C to this, and leaving a balance of £700 on my 15.9% Virgin. Not a bad start to the day!
Suddenly it seems not every debt company is as bad as I feared, and I still have a bit of hope. Removed my protection insurance on Egg and Virgin anyway, reduced the Sky, and got a student coming to see my spare room this weekend for the new term, all in all progress. I'm breathing a little easier!

Fantastic amazing and brilliant!! :j Just as long as you can't get that interest any lower...never satisfied!! I think we underestimate the desperate nature of these companies, they really want the business and are ofeten open to negotiation. Make sure there aren't any scary clauses though and that whenever you find a better deal you can run to that. These 0% cards are just asking to be used and the moneyback spending too.
As for the student well done!! I was advised not to have a contract but I did have a clear verbal understanding. The university were very helpful. I hope you like the student!!
All the best.

Hi CG
Thanks for your support! I am happy with 7.9%, considering my own bank offered me 9.9%,with it being flexible I am hoping to get it sorted quicker than the 7 year term. I'm just pleased to have halved my APR! Just need to chip away at the final £700 on the nasty Virgin APR card, and I will be feeling good about things!!
