anyone got any idea which is a good usb numeric keypad?
is it you get what you pay for thing,they really vary in price.

Yes in part.
As you go up in price, you typically get better, "clickier" harder wearing keys.
For me the key thing (if you pardon the pun) is the layout. For example the Belkin one, whilst good value, has IMHO keys in all the wrong places. The Thinkpad/Lenovo version matches a normal keyboard, so fingers can instinctively hit the right buttons. The Lenovo also has a useful wrist rest that stops the pad twisting away from you when bashing in a large column of numbers.
The key layout is not much of an issue if you are going to be exclusively using the keypad, but a real PITA if you swap between a desktop and notebook with keypad.
