Hi guys,
Just needed to rant I'm afraid. Trying to get money side of house etc sorted through solicitors with divorce etc and the assault case of other half assaulting me put back until 10th August etc.
Thursday morning I get a phone call from a friend that my van has gone (2 vehiclles in the marriage - until things were sorted I had the van and OH had the car). I reported it stolen to the police and was contacted later by them to say it wasn't stolen and that my OH has it so thats all funky hunky dory and that they can do nothing as its a civil matter!!!!!!!!!!! I then travel 80 miles to retrieve the van but OH went AWOL so police phoned him and said "Mr ....... are you going to tell us where you are?" "No" he replied, they then asked "Mr ....... will you return the vehicle to your wife?" "No" he replied, they then said "Ok then thanks for your help" I have to say I was fuming by this point!!!!!!! I am the registered keeper of the van and I just needed a vehicle to get to work but no it wasn't to be so I left empty handed. Oh and a friend of mine had property in the van and he has been told firstly that my OH would turn the property into a police stationn 80 miles away for me to pick up on the friday.
Friday morning still seething I phone the solicitors who say the only route to go down if the police wont help is through the courts which could take weeks or even months!!!!! I found out that he had an appointment with his solicitor at 2pm up my way so armed with spare keys for both vehicles I wennt on a mission - I had asked the police if I would be in the wrong and they said it would be classed as a civil matter so no.
I arrive at the solicitors and see the car, his friend was in it and with my heart pounding I wlked straight up to it and got in  I said to the friend " ....... you can either come with me or get out!" he replied " bl**dy hell ..... I had better get out" Anyway the OH had put an immoboliser on the vehicle so I couldn't get t started and police were called by me and they backed me by saying it was a civil matter - woohoo!
OH had made a complaint to the police that tools were stolen by me he presumed from the marital garage - but low and behold my relative and I opened up the back of the car in front of the police and there was sitting of the so-called stolen tools!!!!!!!!! Also he had said through his solicitors that he has been unable to work since feb therefore unable to pay me but blow me I fouund his work clothes in the car and receipts for him signing for materials when he has been on site working!!!!!!!
After 2 hours of me sitting tight in the carpark my relative decides that me and her can push this 4 x 4 out of the car park and we nearly made it but OH jumped in the car and locked me and him in!!!! - thats against his bail for a start. A scuffle begins over my set of keys and my hand gets cauught and cut but I just wanted to get out. When a solicitor finally came over to help I got out of the car and my heart was pounding in my throat!!!! I have never been so scared.
My friend went to the police to find out about his property that my OH still had and they said "Hes now said he will return your property on monday".
How can people do these sorts of things and get away with it all. I cant steal someones watch and then tell the police and then say I'll keep it for a week or so and then return it cos they would arrest me so whats the difference?????
Anyway it was a different way to end the work week and start the weekend
