New Job Referencing and Credit Checking

Hi,
I have just been offered a new job in a bank.
I was obviously delighted to hear this. Only problem is that 12 months ago when I was unemployed I defaulted on a bank overdraft. I have been told that they will need to do a thorough referencing and credit checking service before I begin working. This will take approx two weeks.
I defaulted on a couple of other debts as well at that time but have since paid all back. The only one still outstanding is the bank overdraft which I haven't begun to pay back yet.
Does anyone think that the overdraft default and lots of missed payments months ago will stop me from getting the job?
Thanks for your help. I am really worried about this.

It may hinder the process, you will probably be asked to produce evidence of any payment plans or asked to put one in place, in the event that you have a CCJ in your name or at your address, but if it did not get to that stage then you should be OK.
I do this process on a daily basis.0
