Hi,
Last week I applied for a loan with Pathway Finance and was sent an application form and was told I needed to pay an admin fee. I chose to pay the£54 directly into their natwest account and still haven't heard anything (which after reading previous posts i'm not expecting to now) Call me what you will but I didn't know about these scams and hadn't read any posts on here until I accidently came accross them today. I'm not sure if there is any way I can get this money back but will try regardless. My main concern is that before I had decided to go with Pathway I had got in contact with Loanfinders and gave them my card details, they said they would only take the fee once the money had been deposited into my account, it was a while later and for other reasons that I chose not to go with them. Obvioulsy, I now realise that this was probably a scam as well and was wondering if I could stop this money coming out of my account as the payment is due on the 16th November!!!

I am now £54 worse off and still need a loan but don't know who to trust and i'm not even sure if I will get a loan as I don't have very good credit plus I'm on benefits. So if anyone has any suggestions or advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks :o

Perhaps if you reported your card lost and cancelled it this would stop them taking money from your account. It is so sad to see, week after week, people come on here realising they have just been ripped off. Realistically, you probably are not going to get a loan at any sort of decent interest rate if you have a bad credit history and are on benefits. No bank would take the chance of not being paid back in full and on time, as they have caught a cold recently from lending money to people who, with the best will in the world, have a high statistical risk of defaulting. Your best bet would be to start saving with a credit union, and then after a while trying them for a loan.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
