i'm planning on buying my mum and sister some perfume for xmas, but rather than go onto the highstreet to buy it and be robbed, i'm thinking of useing one of the online supplies as they are loads cheaper.
but is the quality as good as from a shop?
i wont end up with a half empty bottle that smells like loo cleaner will i ? any recomendations would be great.

I got a good deal last xmas from wilkinsons online - they even delivered it to the local wilkos for free - was Estee Lauder and cheapest I could find it.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

I always buy perfume online from ebay to proper shops and like one poster says you can have some now delivered to store to save on postage .
In fact here is a thread that was done recently and has loads of sites people have used before.

Also just seen 10% off at halfpriceperfumes in the new MSE newsletter.0 -
I bought some perfume off Ebay and it smelt funny. You could really smell the difference between it and what I had left in my old bottle. I rang Estee Lauder and gave them the item number on the bottle and they said it was genuine but about 3 years old. So the seller wasn't trying to con me but it had just gone off.
I spoke to the perfume counter in Debenhams and they said they don't have a huge stock of perfume in and usually have about 3 bottles of each perfume. This way the perfume is as fresh and new as possible. When you buy online or from a cheaper source you can't be sure how old the perfume is.0 -
It can take years for perfume to go off. If stored correctly in a cool dark place it can be good 10 or even 20 years from now. I belong to two perfume boards and we all love vintage. I bought a bottle of Fleurs de Rocaille from ebay pure parfum which was from 1960 and it is totally gorgeous and not off at all.
Perfume in stores is sitting all pretty on shelves under hot lights, not good for it.

I use this site as well. I also use Cheap Smells.
Their fragrances are definitely the real deal.
Just make sure it says "boxed". Some of them - and they are the REALLY cheap ones are just "testers". Usually come in big bottles but are not boxed. I buy those for myself.
Oh, and if you go through Quidco cashback website for those you also get cashback.0 -
has anyone ever used cheap smells?
are they any good?
as they seem to be the best priced for what i'm looking forSPC 0370 -
Perfumes smell like 'loo cleaner' when they go off- this is because they have a shelf life and increased heat, lighinting and conditions all make the perfume go off and smell really acidic.
Bottom line- to make sure it stays smelling good, get it from a reputable store and get a reputable brand.0 -
I bought perfume online from the Fragrance Shop: www.TheFragranceShop.co.uk
They have stores around the UK as well and the perfume I bought (which I had already tested in store) was perfect. I read a few reviews about people not getting their goods because the item was out of stock and the company hadn't bothered to inform them, but I was pleased with their service.0
