Potential New Job - No Pension

Hi Guys,
I'm considering a potential new job that provides no Pension with the package offered. My current & previous jobs have had pensions that I have invested, and the company has either matched the amount paid, or paid a higher percentage.
Two questions...
1. How much is a company pension worth? Is it purely worth the amount the company pays in?
2. Is the return on a private pension scheme comparable to a company scheme?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Money purchase schemes are worth what the employer pays in. Final Salary schemes are usually worth more. Often worth an equivalent 15% in pay.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
