Does anyone know if this one is better than the X800 GTO Fireblade?

Or can anyone recommed a decent card upto 130 pounds?

Not sure, but the X800GT received good reviews, and came in for particular praise for it's ability to be overclocked.

Thanks, I'm considering between the 7600GT by Gigabyte as it has a passive cooler, and the X800 GTO2 which can apparently be tweaked to open the full 16 pipelines.
Love to hear from anyone who has any experience of these cards.

I'm kind of put off the X800GT as they mention in the review its not upto par with the 6600GT, which i'm trying to replace.

Personally recommend ebay - it seems that plenty of people are buying pci-e cards who don't have the slots (thinking they are agp).

OK I know it's at the budget end but I just got a 256MB X550 for £20 for above reason - obviously you need to know what it is worth - but plenty of bargains to be had in my opinion (same true working the other way)

Latest review of graphics cards in CustomPC didn't rate the X800GT particularly highly. Probably better off finding an extra £35 and buying a 7600GT - you can pick these up for about £120 if you shop around.

  • The X800 series does not support Shader Model 3.0.Better to buy an ATI X1000 series or Nvidia 6 or 7 series cards. A month or two ago Overclockers were doing X800 series cards from under 60 quid excluding postage. Not suprisingly they sold our rather quickly!

    The X1800GTO is good value!

  • Ive got the sapphire X800GT 128 mb. I have an AMD 3500+ with 1 gig of ram. I can run far cry on 1280x1024 all very high and the same with Half life 2. Call of duty 2 i can run v high on 1024768, same with quake4

Ive rather get the x1600 and above because as cat the filth said, it supports shader model 3.0. From what ive seen id rather get a nicer picture than a slightly fast frame rate from the GTO.

yeah as a replacement its not worth it at all. It just about matches frame rate, but 6600GT has better features.
