annoying nhs blunder and wisdom teeth

I had a consultation appointment in July about getting 4 wisdom teeth out and was told I would go onto the consultants waiting list at the hosptial he works at and would hear within 12 weeks. Have since found out said hospital wrote to me at an old address that I havent lived at in over 4 yrs saying I had an appointment in Sept.
This was because the place I had my consultation passed on the wrong address despite me confirming my actual address with them!! argh!
So long story short the hospital removed me from the waiting list since I didnt know about my appointment and didnt show up, they have today agreed to reinstate me and Im back to waiting now and should (again) hear within 12 weeks!!
Such a terrible error, dont understand why they passed on an old address when they should have had my correct address :-S
Is there anything I can do to speed up my wait? Have been waiting since July due to this silly error :-(

You could make a complaint. I don't know if it would be addressed in time for someone to decide to bumb you up the waiting list.
Thank goodness the error occured on something like wisdom teeth, rather than something life threatening. For this reason I would want reassurance that there systems are checked to ensure that they have the correct addresses.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
