  • How old would a child need to be to understand this? My 5yo is doctor who mad but don't know what he would make of this game...

According to some online reviews it's just like normal top trumps & my DS played that quite happily aged 5. I think it would suit 7 years better but it is possible & childrens memories are great once the different attribute words (ie intelligence, fear factor, stamina etc)are pointed out to them. I have no idea of the wii game but on amazon the product info says you can do battles etc with the wiimote.

I have 3 boys aged 7, 9 and 11 and would say that they are in the perfect age group. Any younger and I don't think it would hold their attention for long. I'm not sure how much reading is involved having not seen the game yet, but if your 5 year old could cope with the reading required to play top trump cards they should be fine.
