My employer has decided to deduct 2 days pay from me as I was off work to look after my son who was ill. I am aware that I have no more holdiays left, so therefore can my employer do this?

Yes they can.
You have no entitlement to be paid for 2 days you took off because you wanted to look after your sick child0 -
Yep, 'fraid so. Unless they have some kind of Carers' Leave scheme that you are part of?
I may be wrong, but I don't believe there is currently any statutory requirement for your employer to allow any kind of parental leave of this type, certainly not paid leave.
