OK - Feeling pretty rough now but can't sleep cos my limbs aches so much and am sooo cold. Brain isn't working quite right so 'scuse grammar please.
I did the NHS thingy and it said I have is and gave me a number to collect tamiflu but can't get to the place that has it as I have no car and no-one to get it being single and pretyy much friendless(wee violins going off now) and I don't want to feel worse like a friend did after taking it anywa.
Anyway, my kids (touch wood) so far a re fine. I'm going to let work know - I teach in a colleg so will have to take the week off (and lose a whole weeks pay - Aaargh)
But do I send kids in to school, knowing they may be contagious, or should I just risk it? I was going to ring school, but they don't ususally answer phone until it's too late for kids to leave without being late IYKWIM? Oh god my brain hurts now. And I have some lessons to fdelivver this week that I haven't prepared so my cover can't teach them - Oh bumdss! And I think Im rambling deliriously ion a forum now

Snap! You poor thing - I'm not sure the tamiflu is worth the effort, and anyway it might be some other sort of virus, -stock up well with paracetamol or ibuprufen and take them alternately every few hours, with plenty of fluids and with food, just a bit.. Yesterday I was so cold even though the room temperature said 27 degrees and I was swathed in fleeces and a hot water bottle. My hands were the worse. After a while the paracetamol or whatever kicked in and for just a little while I realised how hot the room really was, but I'm back to shivering now, and the pain, wow!
I do adult learning support and not being paid for a week is just awful, I really depend on it. I'd send the kids to school unless they're showing symptoms, they may never get it and you don't want to be stuck with bored and healthy children at home when you're feeling so bad!
My other concern is worrying whether I might already have passed it on to some students, I work mostly with adults with learning disabilities many of whom have underlying health problems. V scary.

Just got out of bed to get liquids down me and it's literally the first time since the early hours that I've even been able to move.
Eldest DS took charge this morning and took littliee to school. He rang up his school and said he was staying home to look after me:o which consists of staying awake on the sofa in case I shouted - like I had the strength :rotfl:
Going back to bed in a mo but thought I'd check work email and I can't find the one I thought I sent this morning letting them know:eek::eek:. Oh god!Noli nothis permittere te terere

Plenty of fluids and paracetemol to keep your tempature down - it is nasty and you do get a bit confused - keep an eye out for a rash just in case it is something else.
I didn't have tamiflu - i spoke to a nurse who said she wouldn't bother - esp as I'd had the symptoms for a few days already.
I still feel tired now though... and very grumpy!!!0 -

How long did it last for you? first symptoms for me were at the weekend - while the ibuprofen/paracetamol kept the temperature at a reasonable level I'm ok, except for this morning when I feel really bad again and although the temp is ok I feel so rough.. That's nearly a week now, I've never been ill for this long in my whole life I'm sure. Grr I'm trying to do an application form for a job I really want but
it's going to be rubbish with my brain on another planet.
