Claiming back my charges from Capital One

Hi
I have now put my claim in at the Court for £800 plus costs!!! I have just received a letter from Northampton County Court stating that they have issued it on June 1st and it will be deemed served on the 6th June.Capital One have until the 20th June to reply.
Ahhhhhhhhh!!! Fingers crossed for me
If I get it all back I will be able to pay my balance off to them in full and have a tiny amount spare!!!
Thanks for all the good advice on the boards---I wouldnt have known I could claim it back otherwise!!

  • Hi
did you have all your statements or did you have to ask them for the information? They must owe me LOADS so I really need to make a claim. Very best of luck - I will be watching with total interest to know how you get on. Isn't it nice to think that they will have to pay off your outstanding debt - kind of a natural justice there somewhere!!!

Good luck, I am currently claiming against Halifax, Abbey and my old car finance company. Its good to hear when people win their claims against banks. Makes me feel slightly less nervous (only slightly lol)

hope we both get all our cash back!!

I wrote to Capital one asking for all my statements back. If you go on to the Consumer site(not sure of the link but I am sure someone will help!) and register they are VERY VERY HELPFUL.They take you through things step by step and there are some really helpful people on there(thank you Crawley Girl for all your help).

I rang Capital One to ask for my statements, and they sent me the final one, with the outstanding amount that remains after my settlement was paid!

And my car finance company (GE Capital Woodchester) haven't yet replied....

However, NatWest have sent all the ones I asked for and only charged me £5!
