Slippery flooring

Hi all,

I knoq there is a thread on this, but I've tried main suggestion and it hasn't worked... so any new idea's would be greatful.

Yesterday I was given some laminate:D (just cheapish B & Q!) it looks like black tiles but its laminate... any hoo.

It's so slippery we can't even go in the bathroom, no joke I only leaned over the sink to spit my mouthwash this morning and nearly head butted the sink, my feet came out from under me so fast. :rotfl::rotfl: My DD and DS have both fallen over too.

I can't understand why it's so slippery. I've tried washing the floor with diluted washing up liquid and water but it's not worked. Has anyone got any other ideas please?

Thanks in advance

  • It could be something you're spraying in the room, which is settling on the floor; polish, air freshener, deodorant, perfume etc. These can all settle as a film and can be lethal. Also, the very WORST thing to get on a floor like this is talcum powder...that's why it's not allowed in a lot of gyms, swimming pools etc. Hope this helps.
  • Thank you MC_Emily,

I'm sure it's not anything I've used. The floor only went down yesterday and was immediatly slippery. Although I will definatly bare in mind what you've said for when the slippy floor is not longer slippy in orde to keep it that way :-)
