Hi,
Should one pay off their debts (£2,500) before applying for a mortgage or after??
The only con is the fact that my bank balance will reduce by half and the bank might take note.

personally, i would pay off debts before i apply for a mortgage - only being that i know that all i owe is the repayments each month for the next 20 odd years
i think it is down to choice - if the bank believes that you can pay the mortgage and other outgoings then that is great.Saving for a deposit for a place of my own.....:jSavings so far £29,450/£40,000:j 73.6% SAVED!!!1poll £23.90/£40.00 (claimed 1x£40)No Monthly Car Payments left!
