Hi

Does anyone know if there is any car boot sales being held around the Dundee area?

Thanks

  • There's one every Sunday just outside Errol (about 8 miles west of Dundee) by the airfield. Just follow the endless stream of cars :D.

  • The one in Errol is very good, costs £10 for sellers, but be prepared to be stuck there until into the afternoon.
I went summertime and arrived just before 8am and there were about 40 cars there before me, wintertime I presume it will start later and be quieter, there can be a cold wind there even in summer so wrap up well.
    Good Luck

I thought that errol was closed now? Heard they had sold the land off for houses to be built.
  • No Lori, It's still going on.
When Morris Leslie bought the permission to build his 250 houses there, one of the conditions was that the sale would cease. So far it's still going on. The extensive housing development at Inchture/Longforgan has stopped since the "credit crunch" and many of these houses stand empty, and others are unfinished, so I think it will be a while before the development at Errol gets underway, if ever, and so the Sunday bootsale is still on.

there seems to be table sales going on at the Drumgeith bar opposite St. Saviours lately - not sure of the dates, butt here seem to be quite a number of sellers there.

  • If you're up for a bit of a trek then Thainstone Sunday Market near Inverurie has one every Sunday. Also has indoor stalls. It's the only one in the area of any significance so has lots of buyers. 2 hour drive though.
