stamp duty query

hi does anybody know if stamp duty is definately coming in on 1st of january? be just our luck as were currently going through moving but people taking there time so we will probably be moved 2 or 3 days after new year. any help would be great thanks rebecca

The country is skint!! This government seems to think spending is the answer to everything!! They need taxes in, stamp duty will almost certainly go back to previous brackets which is a shame, it was a token gesture in the first place, all properties up to £500k should be tax exempt.Totally without prejudice!
