Hi,

my misses has just taken out a loan for 20k for 10 years for something around 10%,

i have looked into it and if i can find another provider that will offer the same loan for a less percentage they will match it, as she as a excellent credit rating.

any ideas on whom may offer a better rate for £20k for 10 years

thank in advance

the comparison sites show the best offers they have for this type of loan is 7.8% which is a saving of £23.75 a month so not an earth shattering difference

every time you apply for finance it affects your credit rating, too many applications in a 6 month period can trash it

if your securing the loan against a property a whole of market broker would be advisable i think

i just checked some of the comparison sites

    moneysupermarket
    gocompare
    the meerkats

I suspect they will all be property secured

go through the excellent guide at the top of the site

  • I agree most mainstream lenders only offer 7 year loans on an unsecured basis.
There are a lot of bargain rates available on mortgages if you have sufficent equity in your property.
