Spent to the Nil Tax Code Money
script
If you went B/R in May and you had a nil tax code in July.
But unfortunately and with the greatest of regret you errr “forgot” to save the money and it just got spent.
And now you get a letter from Moon Beever in October – asking for the money.
It's their first letter - they had never written before...
What will they do re the July – September payments?

They'll expect you to pay it back to them.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Yes, thats what I thought.
I'm guessing they will accept a "pay in stages" plan.
Is this likely to put a block on an early discharge?0 -
Hi script,
I would imagine they would allow you to pay it in stages. I have to admit I have missed about 3 weeks worth (pay is weekly) that was when i used to pay it by postal order (I wont have a dd for this as too dangerous) It used to cost me £6 per week just for the postal order  and altho it seems a lame excuse, sometimes I didnt have the time to get to the post office so i would end up leavin it sat in bank but you know how it goes, it just got eaten up at the morrisons till or on other necessities!
Then I started to pay it by online bank transfer and so no further £6's to pay but what I do now is continue to pay the £6 on top of the m/beever ipa so that it piles up to pay the arrears. I now have enough to pay 1 payment that was in arrears.
When I phoned m/beever to get onto the online payment thingy, they never mentioned anything and they always seem quite nice so I am hoping that by the time they notice I am in arrears it will be paid up to date.
I have read somewhere on here that it can get referred back to the OR/rtlu if the arrears continue so probably best to speak to m/beever or maybe email them.;)
I wouldn't worry you are only human and I think it is just ridiculous to expect a BR to have this money sat in the bank anyway.Discharged May 20100 -
Pmg,
Many, many thanks for that reply.
Glad that you got everything sorted out.
Don't think they'll be too much trouble with my "missing" payments - all I can do is apologize to Moon Beever and pay them back asap.
You are so right in what you said - it is so easy to use the money for everyday costs.
And you do it without ever meaning to spend the tax money.0
