Rust Stain on Carpet

Options
Hello
I have a rust stain on my cream carpet (quite a large one). It happened because we had just cleaned the carpets with a carpet cleaner and I stupidly got my very old hoover out before i realised that the bottom was rusty and now there is a bottom of hoover print on the carpet in rust!

I have tried cleaning the carpet again and I have also tried stain devils for rust but no such luck!

Does anyone have any ideas for getting the stain out at all?
Booply x

    You could try a little lemon juice, and then cover in salt. Leave an hour and then rinse with cold water. Not sure if it will work on carpets, but its in my stain book for clothes.

    I have a book with a few different tips;
    Wet with lemon juice, then sprinkle with salt aaow it to dry, in direct sunlight if possible, vacuum.
    2) Mix diluted vinegar,soap and water , dampen pressing against the stain then blot dry.
    3)try shaving cream.
