Barclays Partner Finance - data protection
I've been sent a credit application from Barclays Partner Finance (Clydesdale Financial Services) and it states that by signing the agreement I consent to my details being used for marketing purposes and shared with other companies. There is no tick box to opt out - instead you have to write to a a different address to tell them you do not want to take part.
I thought that this sort of clause was not permitted, and is certainly against the spirit of the Data Protection Act.
After reading other posts on this forum re BPF I don't think I'll be signing anyway.
