Hi can anyone please tell me if soft brown sugar will be ok in fairy buns i was just about to make somebuti have ran out of caster sugar :rolleyes:

I'd say go for it. You'll get a darker cake with a clightly different flavour and it might not rise quite so well, but if you cream the sugar and butter together really well then I bet it'd be fine.0

i only ever use brown sugar in my fairy cakes now, i find they are darker and taste lovely.0

Well i made them they taste nice but i am not a fan, normal fairy cakes are better they did rise and have a great colour though.Baby Due Date 30/01/ 2013
