I know it still seems a little early but my work Xmas party in on 5th Dec - 4 weeks away! I've had a good look round but all I can seem to find are too expensive, too young or sparkly sequins which really aren't me!

Does anyone have any recommendations for an almost 40, 5'5, size 14 top, size 12 bottom, female?!

I love sparkly, just not sure if it makes me look a little like mutton I love the Monsoon tunic, very pretty.

I'm curvy but with spanx, I can do fitted. Trouble with big boobs is, if its not a little fitted I can look wide, all the way down!

I really like the tunic dresses which are in the shops this season. I recently bought this dress from Wallis sale. I'm tall and it is above the knee. I have the same problem at the top, but the tunic is shapely and a neat fit and skims the figure. I do think you've got to stand back from the mirror and take in the full picture, not just focus on one bit!! It's covered up at the top , but that means you can put the emphasis on the legs! I wore black opaques, and heels and carried an oversize sparkly pewter clutch bag. I hope the outfit looked contemporary and stylish without looking too 'muttony' IYKWIM!!

Hi have you tried the trinny and susannah stuff over on Littlewoods.com as they do tell you on some what it suits ie big bust, curvy, and there are customer reviews about quality and fit. Heres one

I ended up buying a dress in Tescos!

Black satin shift dress which fits beautifully and its a size 12! I've got a pair of purple suede heels and a purple necklace to go with it. Just need to find a cover up.

Sounds perfect! Like the idea of the purple accessories too! heard someone else talking about those Tesco dresses too. Must have a little look!

I got the dress for £18 (-20% on their offer day) on Friday. Bought a dress for DD aswell - she was thrilled! Admittedly, I saw the shoes first and worked the outfit round them!

Definitely worth a trip, they have some really nice christmassy outfits in at the moment.
