It's bonfire season so why not get out the BBQ & have a winter BBQ with sausages, burgers, jackets (do in microwave first) and BBQ beans! I try not to rely on my cooker so we often eat al fresco or cook on our woodburner!
A problem is only a problem if you view it as a problem...instead look on it as an opportunity! Big hug......:D
Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!
    :hello:
  • How about pasta and sauce? Chilli con carne? Scrambled egg? Omelette's? Chips and sausages? Beans on microwaved jacket spuds?

in the summer there was a thread on cooking in a caravan - that had lots of ideas for things that can be cooked just on the hob. not sure where the thread would be now but maybe if you searched the forum it would come up?

hope you get the oven sorted soon

Just put a big stew on, in the slowcooker.
A cheap cut of beef cut into cubes, onions, carrots, a bit of shredded cabbage if you've got anyy. Any veg really, salt&pepper and a spoon of dried mixed herbs.
Maybe throw in a tin of tomatoes chopped.
It's easy real, just chop it all up, bung it in with some water and let it cook all day.
With some crusty bread, it'll be delicious.

Have you got a microwave you can do spuds in? You could do a nice chilli in the slowcooker if you like it.

It will all depend on what you've got in the fridge/freezer/cupboards :).

Spag bol (browned mince beef, onions, veggies, tin tomatoes, beef oxo cubes, splash of worcester sauce, mixed herbs simmered for around 30-40mins and serve with pasta.

Sausage Casserole - cooked on the hob (same as above but with sausages instead of minced beef ;)) and served with pasta/mash/rice.
  • You could chuck a the spag bol recipe on, and then chilli the rest in case it takes more than a day to get the parts - two meals in one.

    Bangers and mash?

    Sausage casserole?

I sometimes make a chilli with chopped chicken breasts, that's nice as a change.

A risotto if you have the rice in with the chicken?

You can do a fair bit just on the hob :)
