Large Bank Loan required please

hi, I'm new here and need some advice. I've come up with a plan (that CANNOT fail) to buy loads of buy to let properties in the Aberdeen area and makes loads of cash. Does anyone know of a bank that will lend me lots of money to do it? Thanks

I'd wait a couple of years.

They'll be a lot cheaper then.

I thought you were Mewbie boomerangs but after that very poor attempt at humour I am almost certain that you're not.

Register of Scotland latest quarterly actual sold price data for Flats in Aberdeen.

    Aberdeen City: Q3 2009--£136,695 + 12% QoQ, +2.2% YoY.

Had you just bought 10 flats in Q2, and sold them all in Q3, then even allowing for transactional costs and expenses, you'd have cleared the best part of £100K.

Not bad for 3 months work.;)

How are you going to know when the oil runs out? Shell/BP etc are not going to tell you.

That year it'll be Aberdeen city -99.5%.

    It doesn't work like that.

The UKCS oil fields have been in production decline since 2001.

Around 30 billion barrels of oil have been extracted since the 1960's, and theres around 20 billion barrels of oil left to extract.

The remaining oil is harder to reach, and more expensive to extract.... So is only really viable with oil prices at or above $50 a barrel.

The oil price boom of 2007/2008 say prices reach $150 a barrel, and oil is currently at around $75 a barrel. There is zero long term prospect of oil prices remaining below $50 bbl, so Aberdeen's oil sector will remain prosperous for several decades to come yet.

Besides, diversification has already begun. Aberdeen's oil service companies now generate 40% of their income from overseas, and only 14% of the jobs in Aberdeen are oil sector based anyway.

Aberdeen University is a world leader in Life Sciences, with numerous spin-off companies in that field now emerging, and Green Energy companies are flocking here to gain access to the engineering skill set that the oil companies have developed.

Of course, Aberdeen is also a regional hub, and whilst there is no doubt that the decline of oil will certainly impact Aberdeen financially, the effects will be milder than many on here seem to think. To see what Aberdeen house prices would be like without Oil, one has to look no further than any of the other regional hub cities in Scotland that have not benefitted from Oil..... Inverness would be a good example. Where prices are somewhere around 10% to 15% cheaper than Aberdeen.

But if you wish to persist in your 99% decline delusion, then feel free. ;)

Dont bite Hamish, its a sockpuppet Troll, whom we all know who the likely real identity is.

Pretty sad really. Cannot come up with a decent argument to debate over so these puppets decide to trash the board with garbage

the thing is that I hope the respected likes of Lostinrates and FCS read these posts from mewbie's sockpuppets and let him know what he is actually doing is ruining the board.

he's got a vendetta against a number of posters which he just won't let go due to his lack of ability to have intelligent discussion. it's a very, very sad state of affairs

Chucky, its not just to signal mewbie out for that. I think, for example, of the vitriol against carolt (many of whom's posts I do not agree with but have been staggared at the strength of vitriol against her) of people implying wookster is !!!!!! etc etc etc : many examples.

mewbie's jokes often sharply with humour made me consider things differently. I often get towards the end of a good arguement from many different posters and see that the last line is a swipe at someone which frustrates me.

My personal preferance is that we'd all use one log in and debate reasonably, though both vehemently and with good huour, however, what I say doesn't go. Its very kind of you to suggest I am well respected, and to equate me with someone who really deserves to be (FC ROCKs!) but I don't think I am, and I don't seek to be.

If mewbie is banished I will miss him (especially his good days). I miss Ad's posts very much. And bubblesmoney. And moggylover. and NDG, and a whole host of other people arguing one way or the other who gave up on the board.

I'm just pretty sad that as things evened out at could get back on track after a long lull. I'm hanging in here in the hope it does.

i suggest someone tells mewbie (or whoever it is, the writing style and coincidence is pretty unique though) to stop this multi user id nonsense.

it's all a bit pathetic - how can mewbie's account not be PPR'd and he's not able to post!?
it's all a cry for attention by him to come out of all of this as a victim when in fact he is the perpetrator of it all.
