ive got a mortage with northern rock it was fixed for 5 years a couple of years ago 2 years to run, im looking to remortage but i have a early repayment charge, some people tell me that since the bank was nationalised i dont have to pay a charge can anyone tell me if this is true please

If they dropped the ERC i think loads of people would be moving away from a fixed deal if they could ........ me included ........ but somehow i really dont think thats the case !0

Some lenders have been waiving ERCs and even reducing capital balances to encourage borrowers to move elsewhere but, as far as I am aware, Northern Rock are not one of them.
That said, you should certainly give them a call and ask the question!0 -
