overpaying on a fixed rate mortgage

Thanks guys. tighterthantwocoats - will send a letter asking West Brom to put info in writing to us with actual amounts of what we could overpay in actual amounts.
It is gutting when you hear people talk about their mortgages being halved, but tbh when our fixed rate ended in january 2008 and our mortage payment jumped up to £800 we panicked and wanted to fix at the lowest rate for as long as possible!0 -
plzhelpmesave - imagine how you'd feel if the interest rates had gone back up though - you'd be feeling very smug while other who were on trackers were going green with envy - none of us are psychic, the best move you can make in the long term is to overpay and get rid of any uncertainty - once it's paid off it's gone!!
Glad you're thinking about treating yourself - with 'knowing' you from the other thread we use, you'll probably needing some new clothes soon.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
Balance 19th April '07 = minus £27,640
Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.0 -
