By the way - another tip if the referers discount links (like the one above) dont appear to work on sale items, simply scroll through the sale list to find the item you want, then click back to the main page and enter the title of the desired product in the search box and your results should show it at the discounted price...
  • Thanks I just applied and got yes one pound better than nothing. :)

Strange world we live in. :o

Here is the perfect example where a online shop has upset a huge ammount of online shoppers.

So, what do we do about it ??

We try to find ways of continuing to shop at this site. :-/

If we are miffed at them, why not avoid them :-/

Why advertise their name ? :-/

Let the bargaining power of this sites users command a permanant discount, or don't advertise them :-/

Take your point, but when these discount links make them by far the cheapest online, theres not many people gonna avoid them.

I think the point also is that cdwow still operate discount links for other sites, yet have decided to remove the one negotiated (fairly too I think!) for MSE. This site used to promote a 75p discount, but now its been (rudely) removed, why not take em for as much as we can, then maybe they will rethink their decision...

I really can't see what there is to be upset about - the 75p discount was so that Martin didn't advertise other discounts. Fair enough - but there were always plenty more discounts listed on his site anyway, that many of us took advantage of - sometimes alongside the 75p discount.

I think they have every right to stop any discount they want to at any time. There are more out there that have already been posted here. No one is losing out as they have honoured the discounts that people have actually got (unlike some retailers).

I don't really see anything to be upset about.

I agree with Trow. The 75p discount link was on the understanding no other discount links were promoted on M.S.E.

Difficult to stop I guess, but other links did appear, so in reality (and I hate to say it!) IMO M.S.E. broke the agreement first.

    I'll get my coat.

Yes, but common courtesy dictates that you have the good manners to notify people before you do something like that... ;)
Thanks to all who post constructively.

Has anyone used cdwow recently? I just tried them and they don't seem to have a secure connection for credit card details. I don't get the little padlock appearing. My Spidey sense says look out.

Yes , i've just this minute placed an order and the padlock was definitely there. I've ordered from them many times and would recommend them unreservedly.

I think your Spidey sense is off beam on this :D
    Waddle you do eh?
